Understand the role
Learn how advocates guide beneficiaries through Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Medigap.

Earn your health license
Complete state education, pass the exam, finish fingerprinting, apply for your license, and secure E&O coverage.

Complete AHIP
Pass the annual Medicare certification so your guidance reflects current rules and compliance requirements.

Contract with carriers
Submit applications through EIG, then complete background checks and carrier appointment requirements.

Finish carrier training
Learn each carrier’s Medicare Advantage, Supplement, and prescription drug products before selling.

Begin serving seniors
Build relationships through referrals, community outreach, professional networks, and compliant digital marketing.

Keep learning and growing
Complete annual certifications, attend trainings, stay current, and grow from independent agent to team leader.
